Winter Song Original Linoprint is a celebration of the winter season festivities; winter solstice, the return of the sun, and Christmas. There's a mix of symbolism in the print, to connect us with nature and the season and remind us of hope and the cyclical nature of life. The eight pointed stars are the alchemical symbol for balance, along with Saturn - the planet ruling over the wintertide. Each corner features a sun, to represent the sun returning at the winter solstice point. Holly is a symbol of fortitude and hope through the dark time of the year, and ivy of fidelity.
The black and white print is hand embellished with gold, water based ink, so each one is entirely unique.
The print is a 5x5" print, mounted in an artist grade, acid-free 8x8 mount in a soft white. (The photos don't currently show the finished mount - more images to come, but wanted to get this print to you!)
