Tudor Heart is the fourth print in my Winter Season celebratory shapes. Inspired by the Tudor Heart currently on display in the British Museum, it features roses for Henry Vlll house of Tudor, and pomegranates for Katherine of Aragon. Roses are an enduring symbol of love, whilst pomegranates symbolise fertility and abundance. In ancient greece brides ate pomegranates before their wedding ceremony, and it's associated with the goddess of love, Aphrodite. Ivy twines between the two to represent fidelity.
This heart would make a beautiful love token, wedding gift, or anniversary present. Or simply celebrate the winter season!
Each print is handmade using traditional techniques making every piece unique. Printed with oil based archival quality inks, onto soft white snowdon cartridge paper, in classic rich black.

Prints and colour may have subtle variation due to the hand made nature of the printing process which makes each print one of a kind. The small marks and flecks of the print are known as ‘chatter’ and are characteristic of linocuts
