Thieving Knaves shows squabbling jackdaws fighting over a ring. My Great Grandmother used to tell of a ring she had stolen from her bedroom window by a jackdaw, when she left the window open. This print is inspired by this family story and the constant chattering of them. The Jack of Clubs is associated with ambition, success and achieving goals so I guess these are two very determined jackdaws! This would be a good gift for someone who's celebrating success or for giving encouragement and positivity. The print is signed and titled, in an open edition. Forgot to sign before creating the listing images!
This is an open edition of an original hand printed image from a hand carved lino block, printed on 130g Snowdon cartridge which is a lovely soft white with slight texture, printed in classic black and white.
This 9x7” image is mounted into a 10x12” Larson-Juhl acid-free bevel edge mount in Snow White, ready for you to frame in a standard 10x12” frame. The mount is complete with an acid-free backing board, and will be delivered to you in a protective cellophane wrapper complete with Raw Alchemy branding, making it ideal for gifting. Frame not included.
Prints and colour may have subtle variation due to the hand made nature of the printing process which makes each print one of a kind. The small marks and flecks of the print are known as ‘chatter’ and are characteristic of linocuts.
Please note - USA deliveries will use the new Royal Mail DDP service and delivery times may be extended.
