You'll learn the art of multi-block printing to create beautifully layered, coloured designs; the same technique used by professional printmakers to build up rich prints layer by layer. Working from a festive robin design, nestled in winter foliage with rosehips, stars and snowfall, you'll carve multiple blocks to lay down colour by colour, from the soft wintry background through to the bold black detail and the signature flash of red. The result? Your own unique hand-printed Christmas cards that are genuinely frame-worthy.
This relaxed and friendly session takes you on a full creative journey, from understanding the design and carving your blocks, through to inking, registering, layering and pulling your finished prints. It's a deeply satisfying and meditative process, and by the end of the day you'll have real insight into how professional printmakers work and a collection of cards you'll be proud to gift or keep.
No prior experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and an apron; we'll provide everything else!
