Sycamore Drift was inspired by a beautiful seed pod collected one morning. The structure was so beautiful that I wanted to capture it. We always used to throw them in the air and watch them drift down like helicopters, and as I wanted to populate by Woodland Collection, this fairy was added to be taking a lay flight down. The details in this carving are extremely fine. I've left chatter around the edges to give a sense of movement and vibration.
This is an open edition of an original hand printed image from a hand carved lino block, printed on 130g Snowdon cartridge which is a lovely soft white with slight texture, printed in classic black and white.
This 9x7” image is mounted into a 10x12” Larson-Juhl acid-free bevel edge mount in Snow White, ready for you to frame in a standard 10x12” frame. The mount is complete with an acid-free backing board, and will be delivered to you in a protective cellophane wrapper complete with Raw Alchemy branding, making it ideal for gifting. Prints and colour may have subtle variation due to the hand made nature of the printing process which makes each print one of a kind. The small marks and flecks of the print are known as ‘chatter’ and are characteristic of linocuts.
