The red apple conjures symbolism of fertility, wisdom, deception, poison, temptation and lust, and is seen throughout history in both positive and negative light. The Norse myths regard the apple as a positve symbol of wisdom, fertility and beauty.
Consider this print a reminder that nothing is black and white and temptation is neither good or bad.
The eight pointed stars represent balance in alchemy, and for the eagle eyed there are also a couple of small crescent moons that represent silver, for the silver tongued serpent.

The blocks are printed on a small hand press onto 130g Snowdon cartridge which is a lovely soft white with slight texture.

Prints and colour may have subtle variation due to the hand made nature of the printing process which makes each print one of a kind. The small marks and flecks of the print are known as ‘chatter’ and are characteristic of linocuts.
